Kenanga Investors’ Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ismitz Matthew De Alwis’ article entitled “Mitigating Extreme Investment Strategies” was featured in The Star and The Star Online last weekend.
Mr De Alwis advises investors to avoid the two extremes of investment strategies; from overly cautious investors to extreme risk-takers. He explains that using either end of the extreme will not benefit investors in the long run. Investing requires effort in researching products, and understanding of one’s own monetary limits. Although each investor has their own strategy in mind for their respective portfolios, the ultimate advise to heed is to avoid putting all of their eggs in a single basket as today’s markets are inherently unpredictable. Finding a middle path between these two extremes will soon prove to be more successful.
