The article summarises their discussion on topics such as the higher savings rate among Malaysians post-COVID and how the pandemic has changed the way investors think about their retirement funds. The panelists also provided their respective opinions on their preferred strategy to invest if they each had RM1 million.

Datuk Wira De Alwis stressed the importance of planning for the decumulation stage of one’s journey, where investors start spending their lifelong savings. He deemed it necessary for investors to review their post-retirement lifestyle, so that they could then work backwards to determine how much was needed and the best investment strategy to follow.
