Yang Mulia Raja Shahrul Azrain Raja Aman (“YM Raja Shahrul”) was appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kenanga Islamic Investors Berhad (“KIIB”) on 1 January 2024. Prior to joining KIIB, YM Raja Shahrul was attached with Kenanga Investors Berhad (“KIB”) as its Senior Relationship Manager of Institutional Business.

He had spent close to a decade at Hong Leong Asset Management Berhad (“Hong Leong AM”) covering and supporting key integral marketing divisions such as direct marketing, distribution channel, agency, retail & mass market segments. YM Raja Shahrul has more than fifteen (15) years of asset management experience in sales and marketing with a network ranging from Institutional, Corporates and High Net Worth Individuals.

He began his career with Affin Investment Bank Berhad and worked in Corporate Finance on the execution side. Following three (3) years under investment banking, he joined HwangDBS Investment Management Berhad as a Client Portfolio Manager responsible for servicing the Institutional clientele. In the subsequent years, he ventured across the industry joining investment firms such as Libra Invest Berhad, RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd and Hong Leong AM. Before joining KIB, he played a vital role in the start-up of Hong Leong Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd leading the sales and marketing functions for the company. Some of his notable contributions include the origination of the investment accounting platform at an Islamic Bank, spearheading Asset Under Management growth for distribution channels and leading sales training for takaful agency and banking channels.

YM Raja Shahrul graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from London South Bank University in England, United Kingdom. He also holds a Masters in Islamic Finance Practice from INCEIF University and is a Capital Markets Services Representative’s Licence holder under the Securities Commission Malaysia.
