Kenanga Investors Berhad
It has been brought to our attention that there is a possible investment scam being offered by a group of third-party individuals who are unrelated to Kenanga Investors Berhad (“KIB”) and/or its subsidiaries (collectively, “Kenanga Investors Group”).
These individuals have been reported to promote illegal or unlicensed investment schemes using KIB’s forms to convince victims of their legitimacy and for directing payments for the alleged investments made, to their personal accounts.
Kenanga Investors Group wishes to clarify that all authorised agents and/or employees are not allowed to accept cash or cash deposits from investors. All payments relating to investments, either through transfer of monies or issuance of cheques, should be paid directly to Kenanga Investors’ account and not to the authorised agents or any other individual’s account.
Kenanga Investors Group has reported this matter to the relevant regulators and authorities for further investigation.
Kenanga Investors Group also wishes to remind investors to be more vigilant and to verify investment schemes through the following resources offered by the Securities Commission Malaysia at the SC’s website before investing:
- Investor Alert List ( https://www.sc.com.my/regulation/enforcement/investor-alerts/sc-investor-alerts/investor-alert-list)
- List of entities/individuals licensed/registered with SC ( https://www.sc.com.my/regulation/licensing/licensed-and-registered-persons)
Members of the public may also conduct online verification checks at the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM)'s website ( https://www.fimm.com.my/search/) to verify whether individuals they are dealing with are registered with FIMM as Consultants.
