Mazidah binti Abdul Malik (“Mazidah”), was appointed to the Board of Directors (“Board”) of Kenanga Investors Berhad (“KIB”) as an Independent Non-Executive Director (“INED”) on 1 June 2026. She is also a Member of KIB’s Audit and Risk Committee and Investment Committee.
Mazidah holds a Certificate in Islamic Financial Planning, Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and Master of Law Executive (Banking Law), from the International Islamic University Malaysia. Her other qualifications include the Diploma in French from Alliance Francaise, Bachelor in Business Administration from Ohio University and Diploma in Banking Studies from MARA Institute of Technology (ITM).
Mazidah is a seasoned market player, having served Bank Negara Malaysia (“BNM”) for more than thirty (30) years. She gained extensive exposure across multiple departments including global bond investments, money market operations and financial offshore market operations.
Mazidah brings with her international experience from London, New York and Labuan International Financial Centre, engaging with leading global and regional institutions and regulators. She has first-hand experience investing and trading across global fixed income and money markets which strengthened her ability to integrate macroeconomic insights with market intelligence to guide sound investment and risk strategies. Her stint at INCEIF exposed her into sustainable and ethical finance where she travelled internationally to promote the development and adoption of Islamic finance.
Mazidah currently sits on the Board of OSK Holdings Berhad, a conglomerate involved in various business verticals, as an INED since her appointment on 1 September 2024, and is the Chairman of its Board Risk Management and Sustainability Committee and a Member of its Board Nomination and Remuneration Committee (“BNRC”).
Mazidah also sits on the Board of OSK Ventures International Berhad (“OSK VI”) as a Senior INED and Chairman of its Board Risk Management Committee (“BRMC”) with added exposure in private markets and venture capital investing. She is also a Member of its Board Audit Committee and BNRC.
Mazidah was also a former INED and Chairman of BRMC, member of Board Remuneration and Board Nomination Committee and Member of Audit Committee and Investment Committee of Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad.
Mazidah was appointed as an INED and Member of Group Risk Management Committee (“GRMC”) and Group Audit Committee of Alliance Bank Berhad as well as an INED and a Member of GRMC of Alliance Investment Bank Berhad. She had also previously served as a Board Member of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and Bursa Malaysia Securities Clearing Sdn Bhd.
Mazidah has attended various training including governance, risk management, cybersecurity, Anti-Money Laundering, sustainability and Artificial Intelligence.
