Focus Malaysia: Recovery Theme to be a Prominent Feature in 2021
Ismitz Matthew De Alwis, Executive Director and CEO of Kenanga Investors Berhad, provides his thoughts on the economic outlook for Malaysia in 2021. The economy continues to be challenged by prospects of high unemployment and uncertainties over the containment of the spiralling infection rate. However, with the recent vaccine breakthroughs and various external influences, he is of the opinion that 2021 will feature rotational play among the laggards, growth-oriented as well as defensive/high dividend-yielding stocks, with recovery being a prominent feature in the new year.
